The acceptable way to wield Duolingo as a tool (DaaT)

Dear Duolingo users and stakeholders,

Everyone should wield a tool properly, and people should wield Duolingo as a language-learning tool in a proper way.

The tool Duolingo helps the user with syntax (that is, how to place words in a correct order to form a sentence). A lot of primary and secondary school students learn syntax in their mother language class.

However, internet culture and leader boreds have transformed the useful tool that Duolingo is into a game, and this not how users should treat the useful tool that Duolingo is.

The language learner that engages with the Duolingo tool (the target focus on people that are over the age of eighteen years old, or have completed primary and secondary education) should wield the Duolingo tool with a pen and a paper besides him or her, to write the sentence he or she wants to learn and its translation.

What if the language has a totally different alphabet, such as Arabic and Korean?

In this case, I would suggest downloading the user's target language's keyboard on his or her mobile device or personal computer and play with the keyboard in a notepad (or search engine, such as DuckDuckGo).

The reason for this behaviour is that calligraphy (that is, handwriting) can be challenging for languages with brand new alpahbets, such as Greek or Hindi.

Wield Duolingo tool responsibly and be safe.

Best regards,
